Recovery update: Drop and give me 20(mg)

Yesterday was exciting. In consultation with my psychiatrist, I’m decreasing my dose of Prozac by another 20mg per day. This is the lowest amount I have taken in almost four years. Overall, I’m feeling well and my mood is stable. I have trouble falling asleep and wake up several times during the night, which is a known side effect of coming off the medication. Although it’s considerably better than it was a month ago, I still have two to three days a week where I cannot get through the day without a nap. My concentration seems to be coming back, but remains spotty. I haven’t yet figured out how to be bored in a good way.

My next appointment with the psychiatrist is Monday and I’m hopeful that I will be able to get off Prozac completely by the end of this month. After that, we will tackle the Wellbutrin, which is still at 300mg a day.

Onward.
